Cindy Lozito is an artist, illustrator, & graphic designer whose work focuses on personal connections, communities, and stories. A New York native, Cindy considers her multicultural background (as a child of white & Puerto Rican parents) a source that informs her work.

Olivia K. Harris, Co-Director

Olivia Harris is a prolific songwriter who uses her Caribbean, funk and R&B roots to create soul fusion, a unique, funky, uplifting sound that will keep your toes tapping. She grew up in Brooklyn singing every Sunday in her church choir, while dancing to Michael Jackson, as well as the reggae and bachata outside her window. She began playing piano at four years old, then moved onto arranging and composing in her high school a cappella group, which influenced her to pursue a degree in music at Columbia University. There, jazz empowered her to use the variety of music she had grown up with to create her own take on R&B. As Olivia K, she has played such venues as The Bitter End and the Highline Ballroom.

Most recently, she played Times Square & EcoFest with her band Olivia K and the Parkers,

Olivia joined the Art Girl Army because as a female musician, she believes that it's crucial to remind girls like her that they don't just have to be singers, they can and should participate in any part of the band they want to!

Caroline Kaufman, Co-Director

I was born & raised in West Virginia, the quilting & craft epicenter of America. I learned from a young age that clothing could be a canvas for tactile exploration & that the power of a garment made by hands celebrated ancestry, storytelling, & small scale human craft.

I enjoy the beauty of great things, but I am most fascinated by the quirks of small treasures. My designs are based on found beauty in awe-inspiring nature: revealing the extraordinary in the handmade & imperfect.

The emerging brand is known for it's experimental textiles, hand painted prints, use of color, & playful point of view. Caroline Kaufman Studio is proudly based & produced in Brooklyn. NY.

Mel Hsu

Mel Hsu and her cello, Charles, are rather inseparable.  Mel's high school band teacher once told her that there was no place for her or her cello in the school jazz band. Amused by this assertion, Mel has since had no interest in remaining complacent within stylistic expectations of her instrument. Although Mel was raised as a classical cellist, she and Charles have been coaxing each other into realms of indie soul, folk, hip-hop and jazz for the past seven years. As a teaching artist, Mel currently works with Philadelphia-based organizations Spiral Q, Girls Rock Philly, and All Around This World. Mel is eternally committed to audience participation, impromptu jam sessions and raucous dance parties.
